A Launching Pad to Grow Your E-Business
Before he took the E-Pro designation course in a pilot program two years
ago, Ray Singhal, Coldwell Banker Burnet - Shoreview, knew how to send
e-mail, but not much more. Today, 60 percent of his business is a result
of Internet marketing.
"E-Pro increases your awareness," says Singhal of the online
program sponsored by NAR in conjunction with Internet Crusade. "It
gives you the basic tools and exposure, a launching pad on which to build
your marketing to the Internet-empowered consumer, the basic framework
upon which you can keep improving."
Since receiving his E-Pro designation, Singhal has expanded his knowledge
base to include an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) course on e-buyers
and became an active user of tools from the Real Estate Cyber Society.
He's developed a strong, information-based Web site (www.singlemeout.net)
and an expansive e-mail marketing strategy.
About e-mail marketing he says, "It is very inexpensive and you
can reach a very large database. I can connect with 3,000 people with
one click of the mouse."
John Anderson, president of MAR, also took the E-Pro course early on.
"It's a great starter for a knowledge base on Internet technology
and e-transactions," he says. "Then you have to take it from
there."
E-Pro course work covers Internet skills and strategies, the connected
consumers and their expectations, marketing strategies and resources.
Also included are the ethical, legal, and regulatory standards of doing
business online.
"We think it's very good for our members," adds Katie Leuthner,
former director of education at the Minneapolis Areas Association of Realtors.
"We also offer technology classes during the year and we see they
are very hungry for information."
